Mon, May 19th, Our Taiwan Trip Day 2


near our hotel is this shopping mall and Taiwan Storyland..

yes, we are heading to the famous themed restaurant in Taipei..

this restaurant shot to fame after 道明寺 brought to 杉菜 dine here in 流星花園 I..

the restaurant features Mini Coopers. quite obvious right.

the pink one is a complete real car, and reservations are required if you wanna sit in it to have your meal.

dear's order

i ordered a set lunch that which includes : salad, cream of mushroom (super duper yummy), main course of creamy prawn pasta, a coke float, and dessert (cheesecake) all these for NT$290. I think it's really very cheap! dear found the mushroom soup really nice and ordered another bowl..but guess what..it's NT$120 for a bowl..so the set lunch is really more worthy!

2 guards will stand facing each other guarding Dr. Sun Yat-sen's bronze statue as a form of respect..the changing of guards ceremony.. is done every hour!

next..we decided that we will walk to Taipei 101 area to check out New York New York and Warner Village!


We thought it was near to walk..but the rain did not stop..and got heavier..no choice but to buy an umbrella at the convenience store..hee.

Taipei 101's shops are similar to Singapore's Takashimaya..and some brands like Agnes B costs more than Sg. nothing much to buy..so we next we're going to New York New York and Warner Village!

A place for teenagers..but it was a little quiet as it's a Monday.. the shop that attracted me a lot was this store called "Plaza", selling lots of products from Japan..I bought a pair of pearl white havaianas slippers at only NT$650!

it was a long walk to 通化街夜市.. FINALLY WE'RE HERE!

the verdict: 通化街夜市 is a pretty good 夜市 with good food and shopping!


while walking to the train station below, we spotted many shops that sell such cute cakes..they are commonly seen in taipei city:)
this station leads us to 辽宁 night market..
